A "family" as defined in HUD regulations, is two or more persons regularly living
together, related by blood, marriage, adoption, guardianship or operation of law
and will live together in JCHA housing; OR two or more persons who are not so related,
but are regularly living together, can verify shared income or resources , and will
live together in JCHA housing. The term family also includes: elderly
family, disabled family, single persons, a foster care arrangement, or a kinship
care arrangement. Other persons, including members temporarily absent, may
be considered a part of the applicant family's household if they are living or will
live regularly with the family. Live-in aides are considered part of the applicant's
household, however, live-in aides are not considered family members and have no
right of tenancy.
